Daugelis zino, kad pas WRX'us yra silpnos dezes. NASIOC radau neblogos informacijos, kokie yra variantai, kai subyra standartine deze. Gal kam idomu ir naudinga bus.
Aisku, visos kainos USA. Bet mazdaug galima orientuotis.
-Stock gears (Warranty repair for you, if SOA deems acceptable, and that's a big IF) on the 3.90 and below FD may or may not break. They WILL break if abused. They will likely break if you drive them hard, they might break if you drive them like a granny. There are tons of rebuild horror stories so the person that does the install plays a strong role in this.
-LGT gears ($800-1000 + install) should be darn near identical to the non-RA STi gears and much cheaper than the RAs and can be ordered from your local service dept. or online for cheaper. Factory 5mt rules still apply, meaning you still have to be somewhat nice to your gears. This can be a very cost effective option if you just buy the whole LGT trans + a matching rear diff and swap the guts into your wrx trans case, which yields ~ 6% decrease in gear stress due to the better 4.11 final drive.
-RA gears ($1400 + install) do have a more agreesive tooth root width and *may* use better materials. They will be strongER than the USDM factory rubbish. They will still break under abuse. Another thing to keep in mind, while these came on a more powerful car, they were also intended for use with a 4.44 final drive which takes a lot of stress off of the actual cogs that make up the 5 speeds in the 5mt (roughly a 12-13% decrease in stress on the gearset).
-PPG gearset ($3500 + install). Still usually a little bit cheaper than a 6mt swap and you keep your much lighter 5mt. While they are theorhetically breakable, they are quite strong and nobody has really been able to do them in yet through pure abuse and hard driving, save one install issue that was covered under warranty. Awesome track record, and awesome option if you have the money.
-STi 6 speed ($3000-5500 + install) : Much stronger, but much heavier and still usually the more expensive option, as the $3000 6mt swap is still quite rare. This is also the most labor intensive option as the trans, rear diff, axles, hubs, brakes, driveshaft, etc. all must be swapped. Again, very strong.
